Where oh where do you find so much energy to do all that you do! Congrats on the new SkeptVet TV!

I have a question! Will you consider doing a video on CBD in pets? (i.e., warnings regarding: research lacking, regulations lacking, lack of strengths/dosing research, etc) – it seems to be a hot topic in media, and the ill-informed are spreading hype and mis-truths like wildfire.

P.S. – Love the new header image and logo!

Great idea! I’ve written a ton on CBD, so it would make a good video.

I haven’t set up any patronage or monetization for the channel, and I doubt I will unless it takes off and becomes a much bigger project and time commitment than seems likely. Thanks for the thought, though!

a patronage list might be helpful in sharing studies for educational purposes. Studies that are now behind paywalls. Since vet medicine is not open source a group of people who look for evidence willing to be patrons might be helpful to others.

Congratulations on the new Youtube blog and all the work you’ve done over the last decade. Im a Vet in Lennox head, NSW Australia , and Im pretty much on the event horizon of a black hole of Woo and misinformation about all things medical and sadly, veterinary. So your site is a breath of fresh air and a great reference source for myself and my clients.
    Keep up the spectacular work!

Now that you have a real-time visual platform I would love to see teaching videos, even just on basic stuff like how to give a dog/cat a pill, or showing what to look for that indicates a problem, basic first aid, whatever. I feel like most pet owners don’t even know the basics and miss their pet’s signals when something is wrong. Livestreaming would be amazing. I share your blog all the time but most people I know under 40 probably are not going to read it, mostly because reading demands their full attention for those precious 10-15 minutes they don’t have. They’ll watch it in a video though, where they can listen while they work and look over when you’re explaining something visual, or when they have a question during a livestream. I do it all day with tutorials, sped up to 1.25 or 1.5, and I know I’m not alone!
A handful of years ago when I started hearing about “anti-vaxxers” I thought it was a joke, but here we are in a world where I hear something about them practically every day, and where our “leader” thinks windmills give you cancer and sweeping the forest floor prevents forest fires. We need rational pushback these days, big time. I’m excited for you to reach more people!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I have a lot of ideas for topics, and I’m still working out the mechanics of producing the videos, but I’ll definitely experiment and maybe try some tutorials at some point.

Didn’t know where to put this. But I was wondering if you could do a video on Cairns and ocular melanosis?
My 6 year old Cairn just got diagnosed with it, at this point he doesn’t need treatment and has no symptoms but the ophthalmologist will be checking him every months. Says he is “moderate”.
He is Scottish like you so I thought maybe you would have some empathy 🙂
Anyway I was wondering what your thoughts were.
    Thanks

Meant to say every 6 months :/
